Schools Celebrate Diwali Through Culture, Creativity, and Community
Schools across the Abbotsford School District celebrated Diwali, the Festival of Lights, with colourful activities that brought students together to learn about traditions, share their cultures and celebrate as a school community.
Students dressed in traditional attire, painted diyas (small oil lamps traditionally lit during Diwali) and enjoyed festive spaces created for the occasion. At Abbotsford Traditional School, the multipurpose room was transformed into a welcoming celebration space where students could gather and take part in the festivities.
Diwali holds different meanings across communities, with light serving as an important symbol of hope, goodness and new beginnings.
