Students, families and staff can look forward to school improvements in Abbotsford that include a completed seismic safety upgrade this year.

“Our government is committed to building, expanding and upgrading schools throughout B.C.,” said Rachna Singh, Minister of Education and Child Care. “As more families make Abbotsford their home, the addition of 360 new seats in Abbotsford schools is good news for this growing community.”

“This week, countless students across the province will be heading back to school, reuniting with old friends, making new friends, meeting their teachers and learning new things. 

Dear Abbotsford School District families,

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write my first letter to you as your new Superintendent. I am honoured to step into the role of Superintendent of Schools/CEO for such a vibrant school district and community, and I am truly excited for the road ahead.

The Abbotsford School District is pleased to announce that Patricia La Framboise-Lo has accepted the position of Associate Superintendent, Human Resources. La Framboise-Lo will step into the role on the Senior Leadership team on October 3, where she will guide the human resources portfolio and drive the district's commitment to fostering a progressive workforce aligned with its strategic plan.

The Abbotsford School District is pleased to welcome another new appointment to its Senior Leadership Team. Bruce Cunnings will step into the Assistant Superintendent role on October 1, where he will lead the strategic direction of the instruction and curriculum portfolio.

The Abbotsford School District is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Assistant Superintendent to its Senior Leadership team. Jay Pankratz, who began the Assistant Superintendent role on August 1, will be primarily responsible for leading the strategic direction of the secondary school portfolio.

While school is out for many students across the school district, hundreds of others participated in the recently concluded Summer Explorers and Secondary Summer School programs, which offered a wide range of engaging activities for students from kindergarten to Grade 12.
