Trustee Shirley Wilson was first elected to the Board of Education in 2005, making her one of the district’s
longest-serving governance leaders. Her ongoing service demonstrates a strong dedication to public education in Abbotsford and to the long-term success of students across the district. Congratulations to Trustee Wilson on her 20 years of dedicated service on the Abbotsford School District Board of Education.
Superintendent Dr. Nathan Ngieng provided a report highlighting the district's continued focus on student learning and well-being, recognizing that safety, belonging, and connection play a significant role in the academic success of our students.
The Board of Education approved the Updated 2026-2027 Budge Calendar as presented by Secretary-Treasurer, Monica Schulte.
The Board authorized the granting of a blanket statutory right of way to FortisBC Energy Inc. for the installation, operation and maintenance of natural gas works serving the property located at 852 Whatcom Rd, Abbotsford, BC, V3G 1Y9.
Trustee Wilson provided a verbal update on the BCSTA Policy Review and highlighted that some exemplars in the report point to the work that has been done in the Abbotsford School District.
The Board of Education carried the motion that, through the Chair, the Board will send a letter of gratitude to all employees of the Abbotsford School District, expressing the Board’s appreciation for their care, dedication, and commitment to each and every student in our schools.
