Chelsea Hotner Signs with Simon Fraser University

Yale Softball Academy Senior Chelsea Hotner officially signed with Simon Fraser University and her coaches and classmates could not be more proud.  Chelsea is an outstanding athlete who can play behind the plate, shortstop, third base and outfield.  Chelsea attended the Yale Softball Academy in grade nine before returning to her catchment school for grade ten and eleven.  She returned to Yale for her senior year to refine her skills to prepare her for her last minor ball season and work with catching Coach Charlotte Dolan to polish her already impressive catching skills.  Coach Charlotte Dolan states that "Chelsea is a dominating catcher in the sense that she is a multiple threat.  Her arm is bar none the best attribute she has, she can throw out anyone from her knees or her feet. However, she is a calming presence behind which benefits any pitcher.  She communicates well with both pitcher and umpire and she is more than willing to put her body on the line for her team. In my opinion, Chelsea is a top tier catcher and will have a very successful university career".  Chelsea will play this coming season with the Renegades 98 team before heading up the hill to be part of the Clan and join two Yale Softball Alumni, Katherine Murnaghan and Taylor Lundrigan.  We wish Chelsea all the best as she prepares for this exciting next step in her softball career!
